Welcome to my blog, the Ivies and Me! For those curious, here’s a little bit about the ‘Me’ being referred to in the title:
I’m now an incoming college freshman, and am proud to be a part of Harvard’s Class of 2020 (Go Crimson!). I come from a small-ish university town in Illinois, and until this fall, I will have lived here my entire life. I’m a first-generation kid (both of my parents immigrated here from Moldova before I was born) with no connections, but their emphasis on education has propelled me into a love of writing (hence the blog) and medicine. As I begin my freshman year, I plan to go pre-med, with a concentration in Chemical and Physical Biology — that’s a long-winded way to say biochemistry.
